  • IDENTIFICATION (ID)
    ENTERING THE FESTIVAL If you look under 21, we may ask you to prove your age. If you’re under 16 attending with a parent / guardian, we may ask them to prove they’re 18 or over. BUYING ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO A challenge 21 policy will be in place for all alcohol and tobacco sales on site. If you look under 21, we will need ID from you or we cannot sell you a drink/tobacco. The only accepted proof of age documents are: A Passport (Not a photocopy) Driving Licence A Proof of Age Card bearing a PASS hologram A Ministry of Defence identity card A National identity card issued by an EU member state

    Milton Keynes Day Festival is not suitable for young children. Children under 18 will not be permitted.

    Large bags are not permitted into the festival. There is no cloakroom or storage facilities for large bags. Small bags are allowed into the festival with the dimensions W21cm x H30cm x D8cm (A4 Size). Bags will be searched on entry to the event, to avoid lengthy queues we strongly advise that you do not bring a bag. We appreciate your cooperation and patience when entering the festival. Bags must not be left at entrances or surrounding areas. Any items left will be removed and disposed of accordingly. You will also be searched at the entrance to the event which may include a full-body pat-down and/or use of hand-held metal detectors. Any item(s), which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon, or which may cause danger or disruption to any other persons at the event, will be confiscated. Please allow plenty of time to get into the event, for event entry procedures, ticket checks and searches. Persons suspected of carrying items that may be used in an offensive or dangerous manner, or carrying out illegal activities within the arena or other parts of the site may be searched at any time.

  • SEXUAL SAFETY
    ASK FOR ANGELA We are supporting the Ask for Angela campaign, which is operational across all our festivals and is briefed to all staff members, including security, stewards & bar staff. Ask for Angela is an initiative aimed to provide support in a discreet manor for anyone experiencing harassment of any kind. Customers are encouraged to go to a member of bar staff or security and ‘Ask for Angela’.
  • WHAT TO DO IN AN EMERGENCY
    There will be a lot of security, stewards and staff on duty, all of which wear uniquely numbered tabards. For any emergencies, locate a member of staff, who will be able to assist or locate the correct assistance. If you need to contact the Police to report a non-emergency crime or to provide information on a crime while at the festival, please call 101. If a serious or life-threatening crime is being committed, please contact a member of staff or police officer immediately. If in the unlikely event you cannot find someone, please call 999. If there is an evacuation please follow the direction of staff or any announcements.

  • CARE AND SAFETY
    We don’t accept any discrimination towards any individual or groups of individuals at any of our festivals. Irrespective of the background of the individual, be that gender, race, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity. We are proud of the diverse nature of our festivals and their customers, if you see or experience anyone undermining this – no matter the severity – please report it immediately to one of our onsite staff. We take all reports of discrimination and harassment seriously. It is not acceptable to grope, threaten or harass others. If this happens to you, speak out and we will help you. Sexual assault is never the victim’s fault but there are things you can do to keep yourself safe – choose your crew carefully, look out for each other, be aware of how you are affected by sun / dehydration / alcohol / drugs / not eating properly. Consent should be enthusiastic – then you know it really is consent. Consent is complicated, but this is the easiest way to think about it. If you need to get out of a situation, just leave, don’t feel embarrassed. Ask security or stewards for help. CARE AND SAFETY ON SITE Decide on a meeting point with your friends. Choose a time and place to meet up later in case you get separated from each other Learn the layout of the site so you can easily find toilets and stewards Keep your phone charged in case you’re separated from your friends Stay hydrated For a full list of what you can and can’t bring into the site, please visit Event Info Keep your wits about you. Drink responsibly and know your limits. It can be hot – wear a high factor sun cream. Security measures are in place, which may include metal detectors and sniffer dogs, at all entry gates. Don’t be worried about asking for help in any situation, whether it’s asking for directions or to report something or someone you’re worried about The Welfare Tent is open throughout the event and is staffed by experienced and supportive people. They can provide confidential advice about drugs, alcohol, legal highs and sexual health, and offer support if you need to talk. They offer a monitored rest and recovery area if you’ve overdone it. Please go to the Welfare Tent if you experience any problems or need to talk to someone for any reason Strobe lighting – pyrotechnics, lasers, smoke machines, strobe lighting/special effects may take place during some performances All sites have a festival firefighting team who are fully equipped to deal with fires. There are also fire extinguishers positioned throughout the site. CRIME PREVENTION Only bring what you need: – Only bring essential bank cards and make a note of the numbers and store at home to make cancellation easier if you do lose them. Please note, Culture Live is a cashless festival and there are no cash points on site. – Put your postcode on the property you do bring so it is identifiable or track your items – use GPS tracking on your phone. ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR Entry to the premises will be refused to any person who appears to be intoxicated, is acting in a threatening manner or is violent. Entry to the premises will be refused to anyone convicted by the police of an offence of drunkenness, violence or threatening behaviour, or the use or distribution of illegal substances. Anyone caught burning toxic materials, creating large bonfires, throwing missiles, or taking part in any kind of anti-social behaviour that endangers other festival goers in any manner will be evicted from site immediately. Security Briefing & Procedures 2023 Appendix 15 – Public Safety Advice Published Online 2023_v2 Page 6 of 6 EVICTION Festival Republic events are produced for the enjoyment of all those persons who attend. The licence for each festival is granted under strict conditions of attendance and public safety, prevention of disorder and prevention of public nuisance. Any person who disrupts the festival under any of the below sections will leave themselves liable for eviction from site. The decision as to the eviction will be at the discretion of the Eviction Team following advice from festival security staff and will be overseen by the Security Co-ordinator. Persons will be liable for eviction under the following circumstances: a) Drugs b) Anti-Social Behaviour** c) Robbery d) No wristband e) Assault f) Theft g) Sexual assault h) Juvenile Drugs i) Breach of Terms & Conditions j) Having been arrested or cautioned in connection with a criminal offence, pending or post handover to the Police **Unacceptable behaviour that can lead to eviction includes but is not limited to: o illegal activity o breaching the terms and conditions of entry o failing to submit to a search upon entry to the site o offensive behaviour o throwing hard objects in the direction of people o encouraging others to behave badly by incitement o preventing our security or emergency services reacting to a situation o building or fuelling large bonfires o committing a criminal offence but not arrested by the police o in possession of unlawful drugs o unofficially selling alcohol, tobacco, counterfeit goods or any other unauthorised goods o ticket touting o any other behaviour that leaves the festival open to prosecution or is not conducive to maintaining a safe event
  • DRUG USE AND LEGAL HIGHS
    Do not bring illegal drugs or ‘legal’/psychoactive substances to the festival. You may be ejected from the event and be handed over to the police. The contents of legal highs are toxic, even plant-based ones. They are untested on humans and they do kill. The use of any gas canisters or nitrous oxide (NOs) is banned across our entire festival site. If found with them, or using them, you will be evicted from the site immediately and potentially banned from other events promoted by Culture Live.
  • WELFARE FACILITIES
    There are medical tents on every site open whenever the site is open to the public. You can find their location on any site map. There are paramedics, first aiders and fully equipped ambulances based out of the medical tent. If you need to bring medication with you, we recommend bringing a copy of your doctor’s letter or prescription. There may be a fridge available in the medical tent if you require cold storage for your medication. Heavily pregnant visitors are advised to contact the medical team on arrival at the event to ensure you are aware of the services on offer.
  • SECURITY
    There will be a number of security initiatives at Milton Keynes Day Festival 2024. Visible security presence on the perimeter and entrances from the festival on site build, and onwards, the new security coordinators will oversee and manage all relevant companies and any operational activity Culture Live has a pre-agreed eviction policy with the police in place Please note everyone attending the event may be required to pass through airport-style metal detectors and undergo body and bag searches as a condition of entry. We reserve the right to refuse admittance to any person who refuses to be searched by a steward or other person acting on their behalf. Please be advised that you may have to queue upon entry so we ask that you are patient – these plans are in place to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable event Security measures are in place, which may include metal detectors and sniffer dogs, at all entry gates. We appreciate your cooperation and patience when entering the festival If you have an incident with a security guard, steward or any other member of our staff that you wish to tell us about, please make a note of their tabard number and/or the name on their pass so we’re able to identify the member of staff in question. You can make complaints onsite in person at the Information Tent and Welfare or via email to info@culturelive.club. Please include as much information as possible, including a description, tabard number & colour, location, date and time • All security and stewarding staff onsite are briefed on the complaints procedure.
  • ANTI-TOUT PROTECTION, FRAUD PROTECTION
    Beware of unauthorised ticket agents and individual re-sellers (including tickets offered on eBay, Gumtree and Craigslist, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and re-sale sites such as Viagogo and StubHub), buying from them can be a lot of trouble. It’s possible you’ll pay over the odds for a ticket that may have never existed or might never materialise. If you have been the victim of a ticket scam please report the website to Action Fraud. We recommend you DO NOT BUY from any other sites other than Fatsoma. We the promoter (Culture Live) have not supplied any of these sites with any festival tickets and cannot guarantee the authenticity of any tickets they may be offering for sale. We monitor the internet and do what we can to prevent fraudulent activity but the best way to prevent fraud is to not risk buying from unauthorised sources.
